Operation of water sublimation EDI membrane block

A complete EDI generation system should consist of the following components:
EDI membrane block, rectifier power supply, flow meter, resistivity meter, pressure gauge, control box, power control instrument, connecting pipes, valves, grounding protection connection line.

Preparation work before EDI equipment commissioning

  1. Confirm that the water quality entering EDI meets and complies with the water inlet conditions
  2. Comprehensively check whether the fastening bolts of the two end plates of the EDI membrane block are all locked
  3. Check whether the power supply of the control box is powered on
  4. Check whether the DC power supply wiring of the membrane block is correct
  5. Check and confirm whether the motor running direction of the delivery pump is correct
  6. Check whether the working voltage of each instrument meets the equipment requirements
  7. Check whether the working range setting of each instrument meets the on-site setting requirements
  8. Adjust and set the lower value of each flow limit switch (water production, concentrated water inlet, concentrated water discharge)
  9. Set the fresh water inlet pressure and flow
1 0. Set the concentrated water inlet pressure and flow rate
  10. Set the concentrated water drainage pressure and flow rate
  11. Set the produced water pressure and flow rate
  12. Check whether each valve is in the open state (initially adjust the opening degree to 1/2 of the full range)

EDI equipment commissioning

  1. EDI equipment operation
Adjust the flow limit protection switch of produced water, concentrated water inlet, and concentrated water drainage to the set value and lock it tightly. On the control panel, turn the booster pump switch to manual gear, start the booster pump to inject water into the membrane block until water passes through the produced water flow meter, concentrated water supply water, and concentrated water drainage flow meter. Adjust the produced water valve, concentrated water inlet valve, and concentrated water drainage valve to reach the set value. The concentrated water flow rate is usually set at 11% of the produced water flow rate (so that the water recovery reaches 90%). Then turn the EDI module switch to the automatic position, and it will automatically power on and run after about 5-10 seconds.
  2. Shut down the EDI equipment

① Turn off the water inlet of the EDI membrane block

② Drain the dead water in the EDI membrane block

③ Close the inlet and outlet valves to prevent the water in the ion exchange membrane and ion exchange resin from evaporating

  1. Restart the EDI equipment after shutting down

① Connect the produced water outlet to the drain

② Turn on the water inlet of the EDI membrane block

③ Run the system with the DC power turned on, flush and drain

④ Disinfect the EDI membrane block if required
